Check out the length of time they’ve been in operation to assess their experience levels. Determine if they’ve sufficient knowledge of tasks similar to ones you have. One firm that is focused on building houses may not be familiar with managing offices.

The Team
Do they have project manager as well as sub-contractors who supervise and manage your project? Your project manager will be able to ensure that the project is carried out to the highest standards and is done in a timely fashion. Do the building company for commercial use employ their own architects and designers or are they willing to cooperate with one of your own?

Licensing and insurance
Find out if your contractor is licensed, insured and certified and bonded. If the contractor doesn’t have any of these the above, you could be at risk of paying hefty costs should the worst happen.
